Our service oriented mentality permits us to become an indispensable coffee partner.
What we do
Since 1950, Ceca has continuously catered to the changing needs of a diverse national and international clientele, offering the full spectrum of Costa Rican coffees.
In addition to its core export business, Ceca operates a wet mill in the Tarrazu region, as well as a specialized micro-mill.
Our personnel’s vast experience and knowledge of the Costa Rican market allow us to provide a customized and specialized service, which meets the demands of our worldwide buyers.
Coffee and Costa Rica have been entwined for over 200 years, ever since the first seeds were brought from the Caribbean.
Since then, you cannot speak of one without thinking of the other. For two centuries the country relied heavily on the coffee sector for its well being, development, and leadership. At the turn of the millennium, though, coffee now accounts for a rather small export share, but it is of social importance as an estimated 500,000 people make a living directly or indirectly from coffee, especially in economically underdeveloped areas.
We strive to be a reliable partner for both our suppliers and our customers. A sound financial basis, a high level of expertise, and a vast knowledge of the Costa Rican coffee market, allow us to provide a specialized solution to each client’s requirements.
Our service oriented mentality permits us to become an indispensable coffee partner to our clients and suppliers.
We continuously bridge the gap between a dedicated grower and a specialized roaster searching for a unique and differentiated coffee lot.

Our high degree of professionalism, continuity, and knowledge, are derived from a motivated and stable work force which considers Ceca a fair and preferred employer.
Ceca was founded in 1950 as one of the first origin export operations for Bernhard Rothfos, and subsequently was acquired by Neumann Kaffee Gruppe in 1988. Since its early days it has been involved in the purchase of coffee directly from growers, processing the coffee in various wet mills, and exporting primarily to the United States, Europe, and Japan.
As a company of Neumann Kaffee Gruppe, Ceca has benefited over the years from the expertise of the world’s leading green coffee service group. The combination of a traditional business with modern risk management places our company in a class of its own.
